BEFORE USE:
Before instilling the ear drops, wash your hands to prevent contamination of the vial. Do not touch the tip of the container with your fingers or make it have contact with any other surface.
DOSAGE:
Administer 8-10 drops once per day in each of your pet’s ear. Use once daily for at least 7 days. For chronic conditions, use once daily for 14 days or up to the consumption of one bottle. Consult a veterinarian if using in conjunction with another ear medication that may cause an adverse reaction.
APPLICATION:
It is important to get the medication into the vertical and horizontal part of the ear canal. Unlike our ear canal, the dog’s external ear canal is “L” shaped. The vertical canal connects with the outside of the ear and is the upper part of the “L”. The horizontal canal lies deeper in the canal and terminates at the eardrum. Our goal is to administer the medication all the way to the lower part of the “L” – the horizontal ear canal.
Gently pull the earflap straight up and slightly toward the back and hold it with one hand.
Using the other hand, apply 8-10 drops into the vertical part of the ear canal while continuing to keep the earflap elevated. Hold the ear up long enough for the medication to run down to the turn between the vertical and horizontal canal.
Put one finger in front of and at the base of the earflap, and put your thumb behind and at the base.
Massage the ear canal between your finger and thumb. A “squishing” sound tells you that the medication has gone into the horizontal canal.
Release the ear and let your dog shake its head.
If a second medication is to be used, apply it in the same manner. Typically, you should wait 5-30 minutes before applying additional medications.
“Do not use cotton tipped applicators to do this, as they tend to push debris back into the vertical ear canal.”
STORAGE:
Pet owners should store the ear drops at room temperature. It should always be kept in a cool and dry place.
TREATMENT DURATION:
Even though your pet may show no more signs of an ear infection in as little as within one week of applying the ear drops, the recommended treatment duration with the ear drops is up to the consumption of 1 vial. For chronics conditions, some pets may require using more than one course of medication in order to achieve the necessary results.

SYMPTOMS OF PET EAR INFECTIONS:
Ear canals are very sensitive, so the symptoms of infection are often clear, including:
– Head shaking or tilting to one side
– Bad odors
– Scaly skin
– Scratching or rubbing ears and head
– Dark, smelly discharge
– Redness and/or swelling of the ear flap or canal
– Itchiness and irritation
– Pain around the ears
– Changing behavior such as depression or irritability
WHAT IS OTITIS EXTERNA?
Otitis externa often results when a change in the normal environment of the ear canal causes the glands lining the canal to enlarge and produce excessive wax. Gradually, the outer skin (epidermis) and the inner skin (dermis) produce excessive fibrous tissue (fibrosis) and the canal becomes narrowed. It is normally a secondary symptom of another underlying disease, such as an infection. Otitis externa causes pain, itching, and redness, and when the condition is chronic, it often results in a ruptured ear drum (tympanum) and otitis media. Otitis Externa or ear infection of the external ear is an extremely painful infection for your dog or cat and can cause a lot of discomfort. Ear infection may be fungal or bacterial in nature and can be effectively managed by the use of Intas ear drops. The strong antimicrobial properties of the ear drops can bring immediate relief to your dog against the symptoms of ear infections – namely redness, swelling, itching and irritation in ears.
HOW TO DIAGNOSE AN OTITIS EXTERNA EAR INFECTION:
Otitis externa is commonly diagnosed by redness or swelling on your dog’s outer ear and the outer part of the ear canal. Essentially swimmer’s ear for dogs, this type of infection is often caused by water getting trapped in the ear canal. This moist environment is ripe for breeding bacteria, and can cause pain and swelling, as well as a spreading of the infection into the bones and cartilage around the ear if left untreated. These more advanced cases can be very serious, and could lead to deafness, facial paralysis, or signs of vestibular disease, such as head tilting, circling, and lack of coordination. If your dog’s eardrum is not punctured and no pus or blood is present, the infection is most likely otitis externa, which is good news, because it’s the easiest type of ear infection to treat with Intas ear drops. Typical signs of an external ear infection include discharge from the ear, often brown or black in color, and a bad odor.
IMPORTANCE OF TREATING AN EAR INFECTION IN DOGS:
It’s estimated that about 20 percent of dogs have some form of ear disease. Dogs with ear infections are uncomfortable. Their ears are a source of constant pain and they frequently scratch them and shake their head. This can cause a condition called an “aural hematoma”, in which blood vessels in the ear flap break, causing a painful swelling that requires surgical treatment. Deep ear infections can damage or rupture the eardrum, causing an internal ear infection and even permanent hearing loss. It’s particularly important to treat any kind of ear infection as soon as possible, especially because if the infections reappear constantly, they can create serious complications and cause long-term damage to your dog’s ear. Again, if your dog is showing any of the signs of an otitis external ear infection, it is important to treat as soon as possible, not only for your dog’s comfort (these conditions can be extremely painful) but to also prevent spread to the middle and inner ear.
CONCLUSION:
You shouldn’t have to waste your time or money on unnecessary lab testing, or stress out your pet by dragging them to the vet only to plunk down an average of $150 for every ear infection treatment. The dog ear infection formula is used by pet owners at home to eliminate the problems associated with an ear infection and restore their dog’s ears to their natural, clean, healthy state. That is because the drops are specially formulated to eliminate the symptoms and get rid of the causes of all of the main kinds of dog ear problems caused by bacteria and yeast infections.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
How long will it take for me to see results?
Answer:
Results will vary from pet to pet, depending on the severity of their case. Many pets have gotten results in as little as within one week. Some take longer to start seeing results, anywhere between 2 to 4 weeks, with regular use of the ear drops. Optimum results may be seen up to 1 month of use.
What is the differenc between these ear drops and other similar ear drops that claim to treat similar ear conditions?
Answer:
Unlike other similar products for ear infections, these ear drops contain an ingredient to help aleviate itching, swelling, and inflammation. This makes the ear solution have the dual action of relieving itching while they kill the source of the infection. This dual action means that these ear drops is all you need to make your pet stop itching and kill bacteria, fungus, or yeast that is causing the itch. Not only does it contain an antibiotic ingredient but also an antifungal ingredient. This means that the ear drops is effective in treating not only bacterial ear infections but also fungal infections caused by yeast. This eliminates the need for multiple products.
Many of these other similar medications have been cited by the FDA for impurities so be careful when purchasing other ear drops as your pet’s ear condition might get worst instead of better.
Is the Ear Solution safe for pets?
Answer:
The drops are an antimicrobial solution which is safe to use on dog, cats and other pets. The drops are formulated without harsh chemicals and is non-toxic. It is ideal for dogs, cats and can be used on other pets.
What if a pet owner doesn’t see improvement when using the Ear Solution?
Answer:
Occasionally, a pet owner will not achieve the desired results after two weeks of use. Additionally, many times a resistant microorganism is the culprit behind the chronic ear infection in which case the ear solution should be used for an additional two weeks. If recommended directions have been followed, and after 4 weeks there is still an active ear infection then consult a veterinarian. Other reasons for the ear drops not working might be that the infection is being caused by something other than a bacteria and/or yeast/fungus.
Are there any special precautions using the ear solution?
Answer:
Do not use the ear solution if the pet has a ruptured eardrum. Do not use this product in conjunction with any other topical ear medications without first consulting a veterinarian. The product is for animal use only. Do not use if the pet is a pregnant or lactating female.
