ALL ORIGINAL, CROCKETT HEAVYWEIGHT HAND FORGED, ENGRAVED CHROMED TOOL STEEL SPURS AND STRAPS CIRCA 1945-1950.  These rugged 1 piece, hand forged Crockett spurs are style # 214 fabricated from high carbon, industrial grade tool steel.  They were factory chromed and hand engraved at the production facility in
Boulder, CO. * The overall length is 6 1/4 ” with 3 1/4″ depth and a 2 1/2″  chap guarded shank.  The 1″ heel band has a 3 1/4″ spread at the boot entry point.  The rowel is a #98 2″ hand forged 9 point rowel (see Crockett Catalog #14 PP 21, 32).  The double back straps are of 8 oz latigo strap leather with nickle silver hardware and appear to be original.  The familiar CROCKETT maker’s mark is struck on the bottom edge of each heel band.  It is in the #5 position dating them between 1945 -1950.  Oscar Crockett and The Crockett Bit and Spur Co. was one of the Big 3 spur and bit manufacturers of the day.  Along with J R McChesney and P M Kelly the 3 manufacturers produced the finest products of their type for nearly 5 decades.  These beefy persuaders were skillfully produced from the finest materials and designed to last a lifetime.  They would be welcome addition to any collection or will “Cowboy Up” for current use.  Please review the the description and photos and email with questions.
